Middle School fourth grade students to roam the grounds of the R.A. MacMullan Center to the “LakeSaver Day” presentation stations. The annual program is successful because of the volunteer presenters who create fun interactive activities that promote an interest in lake stewardship, the outdoors and water safety. We thank Kevin Rose and Craig Engle of the Roscommon Sheriff Department, Lieutenant Greg Patchin, Gerrish Twp. Police Department, Julie Crick, MSU Extension Office, Kate Gammacchia, Marguerite Gahagan Nature Center, Keith Rubin, Houghton Lake-Lake Association, Rachel Roberts, South State Park, Bob Dougherty and Mike Bruce, DASH Boat Manager and Compass Course activityleaders, Don Correll and Rick Meeks. Retired teachers, Greg Milne and Chi-Chi Flewelling also joined the volunteer team to assist with the compass course activity. A highlight of the day is the hot-dog cook out on the beach provided by the R.A. MacMullan A-Team. Many thanks to all volunteers for generously donating your time and skills for the “Lake Savers” of tomorrow.
